The United States marked 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, with a time capsule buried at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, alongside events held across the country for a milestone anniversary no living American had witnessed before and none will see again. Coming a day after a very different, much more personal wedding made headlines and a day before the World Cup final, the week itself became one of those short stretches that different people will end up remembering for completely different reasons.
